For Asian Vehicles | Professional Engine Decarbonization & Preventive Maintenance
Why Is Engine Oil Flushing Necessary After Combustion Chamber Carbon Cleaning?
Cleaning the combustion chamber does not mean the entire maintenance process is complete.
Over time, carbon deposits may accumulate inside the combustion chamber and on top of the pistons. Excessive carbon buildup can affect combustion efficiency and overall engine performance.
Professional combustion chamber cleaning helps soften, loosen and remove these deposits.
However, during the cleaning process, some cleaning fluid and loosened carbon contaminants may pass through the clearance between the piston rings and cylinder walls into the crankcase, where they can mix with the engine oil.
Some contaminants may also remain inside the lubrication system and oil pan.
That is why CYC focuses not only on combustion chamber cleaning, but also on proper engine lubrication system maintenance afterward.
At CYC, we use two specialized machines as part of a comprehensive cleaning and maintenance process:
Combustion Chamber Carbon Cleaning → Engine Lubrication System Flushing → 1-Micron Precision Filtration → Residual Used Oil Removal → New Engine Oil & Oil Filter Replacement
For vehicles equipped with a steel oil pan, CYC’s service procedure also requires oil pan removal and internal cleaning to address accumulated sludge and deposits.
We don’t just clean carbon deposits. We take care of what happens afterward.
01 | Where Do Carbon Deposits Accumulate?
Understanding Combustion Chamber Carbon Buildup
The combustion chamber is where the air-fuel mixture burns to generate the force that drives the pistons and powers the engine.
As the engine operates over time, carbon deposits may gradually accumulate on the combustion chamber surfaces and piston crowns.
Excessive carbon buildup may contribute to:
Rough or unstable engine idling
Sluggish throttle response
Reduced engine performance
Increased fuel consumption
Less smooth engine operation
These symptoms can also result from ignition, fuel injection, sensor or mechanical problems. Proper inspection is necessary to determine the actual cause.
How Does CYC Clean Combustion Chamber Carbon Deposits?
CYC uses a professional Combustion Chamber Blaster, together with Carbon Deposit Treatment Fluid, to help soften and loosen carbon deposits before removing them through a specialized cleaning process.
The treatment primarily targets:
Carbon deposits inside the combustion chamber
Carbon buildup on piston crowns
Other accessible carbon deposits within the treated areas
Where carbon buildup is a contributing factor, appropriate cleaning may help improve combustion conditions and engine operation.
The objective is to reduce carbon deposits and maintain a cleaner combustion environment.
Actual cleaning results depend on the level of carbon buildup, engine design and mechanical condition. Combustion chamber cleaning cannot repair worn or damaged engine components.
02 | Where Do the Cleaning Fluid and Carbon Residues Go?
Understanding Cleaning Residues After Decarbonization

This is an important part of the cleaning process that many vehicle owners may overlook.
Although the combustion chamber and engine lubrication system perform different functions, they are not completely isolated from each other.
As the pistons move inside the cylinders, the piston rings help seal the combustion chamber and control engine oil.
During combustion chamber cleaning, some cleaning fluid and loosened carbon contaminants may pass through the normal operating clearances around the piston rings and cylinder walls.
These substances may enter the crankcase and mix with the existing engine oil.
Some contaminants may also remain in the oil pan or other areas of the lubrication system.
Why Shouldn’t the Service End After Carbon Cleaning?
If cleaning residues enter the engine oil without proper follow-up maintenance, contaminated oil may remain inside the engine lubrication system.
A complete combustion chamber cleaning service should not focus only on how clean the piston crowns look afterward. It should also consider how cleaning residues are managed.
For this reason, CYC includes engine lubrication system flushing and engine oil replacement as part of its combustion chamber carbon cleaning package.
03 | Why Does CYC Perform Engine Oil Flushing After Carbon Cleaning?
The Importance of Engine Lubrication System Maintenance

The engine lubrication system circulates oil through critical internal components, including the crankshaft and other moving parts that require lubrication.
After combustion chamber cleaning, some cleaning residues may mix with the engine oil and enter the crankcase or related lubrication areas.
To address this, CYC uses a professional Engine Lubricant Oil Flushing Machine as part of the follow-up maintenance process.
CYC Engine Lubrication System Flushing Process
Machine-Assisted Oil Circulation Cleaning
Our flushing machine connects to the engine’s oil filter housing through a dedicated adapter.
Using the engine’s existing oil pump to circulate the oil, the system helps clean sludge and contaminants from the lubrication circuit.
1-Micron Precision Filtration
A 1μm Micron Filter helps capture fine contaminants carried by the circulating oil.
Additional Residual Used Oil Removal
After the cleaning process, additional residual used oil is removed where accessible to help reduce the amount of old oil and contaminants remaining in the system.
New Engine Oil & Oil Filter Replacement
Once the cleaning procedure is completed, the engine is refilled with new engine oil that meets the vehicle’s required specifications, and a new oil filter is installed.
Why Not Simply Change the Engine Oil?
A conventional engine oil change primarily drains used oil from the oil pan.
However, some old oil and contaminants may remain in internal oil passages and other lubrication system components.
CYC’s machine-assisted circulation cleaning and precision filtration are designed to provide additional cleaning before fresh engine oil is introduced.
Combustion chamber cleaning addresses carbon deposits. Engine lubrication system flushing and oil replacement complete the follow-up maintenance.
Machine flushing can help reduce contaminants but cannot guarantee the complete removal of all deposits or residual oil from every internal engine component.
04 | Why Does CYC Remove and Clean Steel Oil Pans?
Steel Oil Pan Removal & Cleaning

The Oil Pan Can Also Accumulate Sludge
The engine oil pan is located beneath the engine and collects oil returning from the lubrication system.
Over time, sludge and deposits may accumulate at the bottom of the oil pan.
During combustion chamber cleaning, some loosened carbon contaminants and cleaning fluid may enter the crankcase and eventually reach the oil pan.
Even after a conventional oil drain, deposits attached to the bottom of the oil pan may remain.
CYC therefore applies different service procedures depending on the oil pan material and construction.
CYC Oil Pan Cleaning Standards
Steel Oil Pan
Under CYC’s service procedure, vehicles equipped with a steel oil pan require oil pan removal and internal cleaning.
This allows additional cleaning of sludge and deposits that may not be sufficiently removed through conventional oil draining.
Non-Steel Oil Pan
Under CYC’s current standard package procedure, additional oil pan removal and cleaning are not routinely required.
The actual oil pan material, construction and applicable cleaning requirements will be confirmed during vehicle inspection.
Possible Additional Charges
Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Extra Engine Oil | RM88 / 1L |
| Steel Oil Pan Removal & Cleaning | RM80–RM400 |
Final charges depend on vehicle model, engine oil capacity, accessibility and service requirements. Any additional work and charges will be explained and quoted before proceeding.
05 | Why Does CYC Use Two Different Cleaning Machines?
Two Professional Machines. One Comprehensive Maintenance Process.
